Here we explore the potential to enhance news reporting by re-presenting printed news into the federated wiki. As news accumulates the computational capabilities and the federated nature of this platform will reveal themselves.
Ability to embed external web sites

* [ ] Have NDCs approach foundations for relocalizing news at the neighborhood level. What is the difference in news across various scales? What value does each scale provide. What value is not available at various levels? We have two excellent sources of local news: Foothills Outlook and Cascadia Daily News. How do they best interact? What mentoring could occur? What about WWU Journalism Dept.?
* [ ] Display the relationships between local news articles and levels of government. Use EIP Sketch. Highlight the multilevel role of "Citizenship"--"taking an active part in taking care of" at each level. Helping to increase the "aliveness" at each level and in all places.
* [ ] Add lat long as frequently as possible. Use this to create maps (addable) and to calculate distance from the community.
* [ ] Create reader version of Outlook news that adds check boxes for them to click on when they read an article. Invite comments and suggestions--in their own sites. Review and collect reader versions for checked boxes, comments, suggestions. Even without the reader having a FedWiki account, their browser will keep track of the checked boxes. Until they clear the cache.
* [ ] Ability to imbed video and audio files.
* [ ] Explore the possibility of Kerry and Marc (to start) write a monthly column "Foothills Systems in the News", or "News in/of/on the System"
* [ ] Develop a way for the end user to do Sofi-VSM assessments of various organizations and associations. Save as PDF (from print) and share as appropriate.
